History & Purpose

South Dakota Runner was created in 2005 in response to the lack of coverage for SD runners beyond the high school level and a lack of coverage for SD running in general. 

The founder of SoDakRunner is Sioux Falls native, Jarvis Jelen. The goal of SoDakRunner is to promote current SD runners and to keep history alive for the past SD greats, both teams and individuals.

The current focus of SoDakRunner is to maintain SD running history and lists on this site, while utilizing the SoDakRunner Facebook page for community interaction, news, updates, etc.

For those familiar with the old site and the depth of information that was available in that location, I am slowly working on transitioning much of that info onto this site.
